How do I edit a user's social name?
The social name allows you to personalize how a user is displayed inside your organization, especially when their account name is missing or unfamiliar.
- Access the Users settings
Navigate to your organization’s Settings, then click Users.
- Click the action menu (⋯) and select “Edit” next to the user
A drawer will open for editing.
- Enter a social name
This can be a nickname, preferred name, or more recognizable label.
- Click “Save” to update
The social name will now appear across the platform in place of the default name.
Things to Keep in Mind
- The social name is only visible within your organization.
- It is useful for users who log in via external providers (like Google) and haven’t set a proper display name.
- You cannot edit the actual user account name—only the social name for internal use.
